The symbol of Babidi's forces
|Manga Debut||Chapter 446|
Babidi's Forces (バビディ一味, Bobbidi Ichimi) was an organization composed of many warriors from across the universe, formed under command of the nefarious wizard Babidi. Babidi's minions are unwilling servants, their loyalty being the result of a mind control spell. This spell unlocks their potential and thus increases their power and places a large "M" on their forehead (the "Demon mark"; the kanji for Demon being 魔; Ma). The syndicate scoured throughout different parts of the galaxy to spot a potential planets with susceptible large traces of pure energy enough to resurrect Majin Boo.
- The names of Babidi's allies are based on popular magical words. Notably Bibidi, his son Babidi, and his creation Buu's names are a pun on the name of an incantation in the 1950 film Cinderella, "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo".
- In the original series, Bū is the only one of Babidi’s Forces ever referred to as majin. However, due to misinformation from the FUNimation's english dub fans have long referred to those Babidi controls with his magic as majin as well, most prominently with “Majin Vegeta”. The name “Majin Vegeta” has only been used in video games and on FUNimation’s DVD releases.
- Akira Toriyama has stated that, if the 'M' typically used to symbolize Babidi's Forces meant anything, it would mean Ma (魔, 'demon'), which is typically used in the word madōshi (魔道士, mage) and majin (魔神, devil, genie, magical being).
