The Barrier is a defensive Ki Manipulation Technique where the user created a barrier to defend themselves.
Usage[]
The Barrier is a defensive ability that manipulates the user's life into a defensive barrier around their body to protect themselves. In this way, it can guard against life -attacks, as well as physical attacks, such as missiles. Vegetto's barrier was of such sophistication that he was able to avoid being absorbed by Majin Bū. However, to maintain a barrier, the user must constantly emit life for it to maintain structure. Additionally, the life they emit must be at least twice that of their opponent. Lapis, with his infinite energy generator, and Developed Form Cell, who gained this generator through absorption, can use this technique with relative ease. Vegetto, who was said to be the best in the Universe in terms of his strength, could use it with the same relative ease. This technique's final weakness is the fact that someone who is weaker cannot use it to defend against a stronger opponent.[1]
Trivia[]
- Despite his Barrier only being used to prevent absorption, and not having been used in combat, Vegetto's Barrier skill in many video games functions similarly to the standard barrier used by Lapis; a spherical defense that protects against attacks.
- The Son Gohan from the future has shown the ability to use the Barrier in video games despite never having used the skill in the manga or animated specials; this also applies to the Makankōsappō.
- Despite not being listed as user in the Daizenshū, Majin Bū used a barrier in anime filler to protect himself from attacks; however, due to his own magical skills, it is highly likely the barrier was more related to Barrier Sorcery.
