The Beerus Ball is a Ki Manipulation Technique utilized by Hakaishin Beerus, and one of his strongest offensive techniques.

Usage

I can't let this blast hit the Earth...!

—Son Gokū trying to keep the Beerus Ball from destroying the planet., Dragon Ball Z: God and God

The Beerus Ball is a massive, sun-like energy sphere that Beerus forms over his head before launching it effortlessly at his opponent. The attack is shown to possess a ludicrous level of power, as simply being close to the Earth caused the surface of the planet to begin to churn and destruction to occur without even touching the planet's surface. From the surface of the planet, it eclipsed the very sun, and was the brightest thing in the sky. Son Gokū was unable to fully fend off the technique, even in his godly ki enhanced Super Saiyan form, and only when Gokū transformed into a Super Saiyan God was he able to nullify the technique. However, this exhausted his godly ki and left Gokū exhausted and unable to fight.[5]

Trivia

  • While the attack was never named in the series proper, Akira Toriyama thought up a name for the technique during an interview.[1]
  • The Beerus Ball's name is similar to a type of mini keg known as the beer ball, a disposable plastic ball that usually holds 5.2 gallons of beers. This name falls in line with what Toriyama believed Beerus' own name to be a pun on: beer.
