The Earth-Collapsing Blow is the strongest Ki Manipulation Technique available to the pure Majin Boo.
Usage[]
Through this technique, Majin Boo creates a gigantic spherical orb of ki over the palm of his head. He then strikes the surface of the planet with it, causing the magma within the planet to swell and explode from the sheer source of the ki's strength. This technique wiped out the Earth without leaving a trace remaining.[1]
In Other Media[]
The Blow that Collapses the Earth first appeared in video games in Dragon Ball Z: The Legend. In Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout it is named the Powerball. It was called the Vanishing Ball (バニシングボール, Banishingu Bōru) in the Budokai series, and be carried over into the Heroes and XenoVerse series. In the Budokai Tenkaichi and Raging Blast series, as well as Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, it would be given its most common name: Planet Burst (プラネットバースト, Puranet Bāsuto). The move appears in Dragon Ball FighterZ, both in Boo's moveset, as well as in his victory animation, where he destroys the planet he's fighting on.
The technique, while not usable due to the lack of a playable Boo, appeared in Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury as well. Boo would use the technique in a cutscene to destroy the Earth; due to the Game Boy Advance's technical limitations, the Blow that Collapses the Earth appeared as a red sphere around Boo's body that expanded.
Trivia[]
- The Blow that Collapses the Earth has the dubious honor of being the first attack to successfully destroy the Earth. Vegeta and Cell both threatened to destroy the planet, but Boo was the first to successfully perform the action with this move.
