"The 22nd Tenka-Ichi Budōkai" (第22回天下一武道会, Dai-Nijūnikai Tenka-Ichi Budōkai; Viz "Return to the Tournament"; Literally meaning "The 22nd Number One Under the Heavens Martial Arts Gathering") is the one hundred thirteenth chapter of the Dragon Ball series.
Summary
After three years, the Dragon Team have prepared for the 22nd Tenka-Ichi Budōkai. Muten Rōshi, Bulma, Kulilin, Yamcha, Puar, Oolong, and Lunch make their way towards Papaya Island by plane, eagerly anticipating both the Budōkai and their reunion with Gokū. Humorously, Lunch and Rōshi are plagued by problems — fighting the desire to hijack the plane and use the restroom respectively.
After the plane lands, and Muten Rōshi holds up the group with his restroom trip, the Dragon Team makes their way towards the arena. Yamcha and Kulilin register for the tournament, and Rōshi, after checking whether Gokū had registered, discreetly registers as 'Jackie Chun'. With three more minutes until the registers close, Muten Rōshi encounters an old 'friend', Tsuru Sennin. The two bicker angrily, and Tsuru Sennin declares that his two disciples will be the both the victors and stars of the Budōkai this time, not Rōshi's. When Tsuru Sennin leaves, Rōshi explains that he was his former rival.
With only a minute left for registration, Yamcha asks Puar to transform into Gokū, so he would be registered even if he's late. Gokū arrives, however, at the last second, and Rōshi hurriedly registers him. The boy explains his lateness away by saying he swam all the way from Yahhoy — a distant city well on the other side of the world. Changing into his regular Turtle School dōgi, Gokū, Kulilin, and Yamcha enter the preliminaries, where they encounter Jackie Chun once more. Outside, naturally, Rōshi is nowhere to be seen. Gokū eagerly tells Jackie Chun that he wants to be the one to win this time; to himself, Jackie admits that he's been secretly training for this, and doesn't have the intention of losing.
