"The Special Corps's Frontline Man! Break Gurd's Spell" (特戦隊の一番手！グルドの呪縛を打ち崩せ, Tokusentai no Ichibante! Gurudo no Jubaku o Uchi Kuzuse; FUNimation "First Up for the Ginyu Force! Guldo's Time Freeze!") is the twenty-ninth episode of the Dragon Ball Kai anime.

Summary

Vegeta, Kulilin, and Gohan race to the remaining five Dragon Balls that Vegeta had hidden, in an attempt to grant Vegeta the wish of eternal life in order to stand a chance against the Ginyū Special Corps. The Ginyū Special Corps beats them there, and with speed and a time freeze, swipe the two remaining Dragon Balls. Ginyū takes the seven Dragon Balls to Freeza, and allows the other members to play Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide who gets to fight who. Reacoom wins a fight with Vegeta and Gurd wins a fight with Kulilin and Gohan. Kulilin and Gohan fight Gurd first. After realizing that they are no easy match for him, Gurd paralyzes the two with his ESP-based "Time Stop" technique. Vegeta, however, kills Gurd before any harm is done to the Earthlings, so Reacoom decides he's next to fight. Meanwhile, Gokū is ten minutes away from landing on Namek.
