Destruction is a technique used by Hakaishin which allows them to instantaneously destroy a target.
Usage
The Hakaishin are able to unleash this technique through lifting their palm holding it, uttering the word "Destruction" (破壊, Hakai), the user can instantaneously kill whomever is in front of them.[1] Beerus was shown to be able to eliminate revenants, and gag-comic characters. Sidra's application was distinctly different where he was able to use it to destroy everything within a certain area, destroying an entire civilization.
In the manga, Gokū would later display this ability while in his Completed Super Saiyan Blue state; channeling his contained aura into his fist, and shouting "Destruction", Gokū can reduce a target — or part of a target — to ashes. However, this ability vastly drains his stamina, and cannot be used repeatedly.[2]
In Other Media
Video Games
In Dragon Ball FighterZ, if Beerus' Transcendent Headshot would kill Gokū Black, Destruction is used instead. This marks its first appearance within video game media.
Trivia
- While explicitly a Hakaishin skill, Gokū was able to mimic this technique in the manga, outright stating he was "borrowing it" from Beerus. Despite this claim, the manga never shows Beerus use it on screen.
- Destruction has had different portrayals between media. Within Dragon Ball Z, it reduces the target to sand, playing into Beerus' Egyptian motif. However, in Dragon Ball Super, Destruction either atomizes the target in the anime, or reduces them to sand in the manga.
