Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock (ドラゴンボール エピソードオブバーダック, Doragon Bōru Episōdo obu Bādakku) is a three-chapter spin-off manga series written and illustrated by Naho Ōishi. It serves as a spin-off sequel to the TV special Dragon Ball Z: A Lonesome, Final Battle - The Father of Z Warrior Son Gokū, who Challenged Freeza.

Chapter 1[]

The new story begins where the original TV special ended: Bardock calls for Freeza to come out and ask what he wants while the tyrant is in his spaceship with Zarbon and Dodoria. Bardock tries to attack but Freeza, sick of working with Saiyans, launches a Supernova to blow up planet Vegeta.

Instead of dying, Bardock awakens to find himself in a strange place, where two creatures, Ipana and Beri, approach him. Bardock recognizes that the liquid healing him, is similar to the liquid used in Saiyan's medical machines. Ipana says that their planet's name is Plant, making him wonder if he was send back to the past.

Two strangers, Tobi and Cavira arrives in the spaceship and begin attack the villagers. Bardock confronts and makes quick work with the duo. then flies away to hang out in a cave, but not before the villagers come to thank him.

Bery, who manages to repay for his favor, arrives in the cave with many foods multiple times. Bardock seems to be growing tolerant of him, although he seems to act tough with the kid in the first time. Meanwhile, Chilled, after ten days losing contact with his soldiers, decides to investigate planet Plant himself.

Anime Adaptation[]

Main article: Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock The Episode of Bardock was adapted into an anime as part of the Dragon Ball SSSS project. An advanced preview of the feature was shown at Shueisha’s Jump Festa ’12 on December 17, 2011 and was subsequently streamed online free for a limited time.
