Dragon Ball SSSS, ("SSSS" stands for "Saikyō Super Saiyan Secret",) is a special project to celebrate 30 years of the Dragon Ball series. The project has also been titled the Dragon Ball Force Project (ドラゴンボール フォースプロジェクト, Doragon Bōru Fōsu Purojekuto).[1] It began in November 2011 in conjunction with Bandai, V-Jump, and Saikyō Jump.[2]

The following releases and events are part of Dragon Ball SSSS:


  • The Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock spin-off manga is written by Naho Ōishi from August to October of 2011.[3]

  • A timeline was released for the entire Dragon Ball series. It was divided into a number of story arcs:
    1. "The Story of Gokū's Birth" (孫悟空誕生以前の物語, Son Gokū Tanjō Izen no Monogatari)
    2. "Son Gokū's Boyhood Arc" (孫悟空少年編, Son Gokū Shōnen Hen)
    3. "Piccolo Arc" (ピッコロ大魔王編, Pikkoro Hen)
    4. "Saiyan Arc" (サイヤ人編, Saiya-jin Hen)
    5. "Freeza Arc" (フリーザ編, Furīza Hen)
    6. "Androids-Cell Arc" (人造人間・セル編, Jinzōningen-Seru Hen)
    7. "Majin Bū Arc" (魔人ブウ編, Majin Bū Hen)
    8. "Gods of the Universe Arc" (宇宙の神々編, Uchū no Kamigami Hen)
    9. "The World at Peace Arc" (平穏な世界編, Heionna Sekai Hen)


  • In the March issue of Saikyō Jump, a DVD featuring both Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans and Episode of Bardock was released to subscribers of the physical magazine.
  • Episode of Bardock received an official home release as a part of Dragon Ball Z for Kinect on the Xbox 360 in October 2012.[4]
