Keep in mind that these policies are ultimately guidelines. If it's found that a policy restricts something that the reason the policy was created didn't intend to restrict, then the policy should be changed.

Below is Dragon Universe Wiki's layout guide.

Main Characters[]

{{TopQuotes}} — Insert a quote that best displays the character's personality and traits. This quote could also be how the characters describe themselves (i.e., Cell).
- While literal translations form the original Japanese is preferred, sometimes the English dub lines are more memorable or more poignant. In this case, if the dubbed line does not deviate too much from the original Japanese meaning, then a dub line can be inserted instead.

Intro Paragraph — Insert a short opening paragraph that briefly describes the character (i.e., Gokū Black).
Background — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). Contains all biographical information on the character prior to their debut in the series proper.
Personality — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). Contains a brief, yet informative, synopsis of the character's personality traits.
Appearance — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). Contains a brief, yet informative, synopsis of the character's appearance: his/her general appearance, clothing, etc. Changes in this appearance throughout the series should also be documented.
Equipment — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). Contains, in list format, the essential equipment used by a character (i.e., Gokū's Kintoun or Future Trunks' sword).
Vehicles - This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). Contains, in the list format, the essential vehicles used by a character (i.e, Vegeta's Round Spaceship or Bulma's Hoi Poi Capsule vehicles).
Abilities — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). The opening paragraph should generally summarize what the character is capable of.
- Power — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). This section should contain information such as comments to the character's power, power levels, and other relevant information.
- Fighting Style — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). This section should detail how a character fights, as well as their effectiveness in physical combat.
- Ki Usage — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). This section should detail the character's usage of Ki, whether that be for simple sensing or Ki Manipulation Wave.
- Transformations — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). This section should ideally summarize the powers and description of a character who has obtained a transformation.
  - Each individual transformation should receive a sub-section with a Level 4 Heading (four "=" signs).
- Other Skills — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). This section is for documenting other skills not covered by the previous section headings.
- Additionally, there may be unique skills which are specific to a certain character (i.e., Trunk's "Swordsmanship" or Piccolo's "Intelligence"). In these cases a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs) should also be used to give special focus to that skill.
Part I — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs).
- Some Canon Arcs — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). This section should contain a summary of the character's direct appearances within a particular story arc. These sections are for T-Canon only with the exception of the below:
  - Anime-only additions to canon materials, such as extended scenes, can be added to a canon arc section. Simply begin the sentence with, "In the anime…" in order to make the differentiation.
- Filler/Non-Canon Arcs (anime only) — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs) with the addition of "anime only" in parenthesis. These sections document filler arcs and non-canon content in general. The template {{AnimeOnly}} should proceed the text of these sections, allowing readers to note the non-canon status of the content.
Part II (If applicant) — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs).

Part IV — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). Note: Because the Super anime and the Super manga are considered T-Canon, and per our Canon policy. However, as the Super anime has its plot directly approved and written by Toriyama, trumping Toyotarō's version, the manga content is put into a sub-section under the anime content of the same arc.
- Some Anime Canon Arcs — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs). These sections is for documenting the events in the Super anime produced by Toei Animation and follow the same rules.
  - Some Manga Canon Arcs — This section is marked with a Level 4 Heading (three "=" signs). These sections is for documenting the events in the Super manga illustrated by Toyotarō and follow the same rules.
- Filler — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (three "=" signs) with the addition of "anime only" in parenthesis. These sections is for documenting the exclusive events, not a part of main plot in the Super anime.
Part V — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). This section is for documenting the events of the final chapter of Dragon Ball which takes place after the events of Super.
Legacy — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). This section shall only exist if a character has died and stayed dead. It is for documentation of the character's impact on other characters and the overall direction of the series. Optional
In Other Media — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). This section is for documenting the non-canon movies and video game appearances. It is also a place to document, briefly, a character's appearance in Dragon Ball Z Abridged.
- Dragon Ball GT (anime only) — This section is marked with a Level 3 Heading (two "=" signs). This heading should be immediately followed by the {{AnimeOnly}} template, because of the nature of GT as both non-canon and anime-only.

Quotes — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). This section is for recording relevant quotes which, like the top quote, reveals an aspect of the character's personality.
References or Notes & References — This section is marked with a Level 2 Heading (two "=" signs). This section is for documenting the references used using the <references/> tag. If the page also contains Notes, please follow the following format:
