Keep in mind that these policies are ultimately guidelines. If it's found that a policy restricts something that the reason the policy was created didn't intend to restrict, then the policy should be changed.

The following is guide to preforming translations on our wiki:

Guidelines

  • Anyone doing any form of translation. Looking up on Google Translate or similar translation tools, is not translating. You are not doing the site any favors by doing amateur translation. Please refrain from using such tools.
  • If you are not a member of the translation team, please do not answer translation questions. Leave it to our translators so as to avoid confusion.
  • Admins have the final say on the translation being placed into a article.
  • If you are not a translation team member and are answering posts or giving opinion on this page they will be removed.

Furigana/Katakana Readings

Wherever the manga (and/or databook) gives a furigana/katakana reading for a specific kanji, use the {{ruby-ja}} template to add the furigana/katakana above the appropriate Kanji. We do this in order to prove that our translation is the correct one.

Example
This:
{{translation|'''Artificial Humans'''|{{ruby-ja|人造|じんぞう}}{{ruby-ja|人間|にんげん}}|Jinzōningen}}
Yields This:
Artificial Humans (人造じんぞう人間にんげん, Jinzōningen)
