"EX Fusion" is a unique type of fusion developed by Bulma, introduced in the video game Dragon Ball Fusions. It combines the Metamoran Fusion with the Kaiōshin's Potara, allowing fighters who do not have similar combat strengths or builds to merge into a powerful warrior permanently. As opposed to the Potara, it utilizes the Metamo-Ring; worn on the wrists, the two participants perform the Metamoran Fusion and merge into a single, powerful being. If the Metamo-Ring is removed, the fusion is undone, but as long as the ring remains intact, the fusion is permanent.

The EX Fusion method also appears to be able to supercede the Potara, allowing a fused Potara being to still perform fusion via this method.

Only fighters who have an immense affinity with the other participating party can perform the EX Fusion, and performing this method gives the two participants even stronger affinity with each other. Tekka can perform this technique with every fighter on his side.

Trivia

  • While it is classified as Fusion, and functions as such for every character, it bears more similarities to Absorption when used by Tekka — or the player character in general. The resulting fused character is treated as Tekka, down to their personality, and only acquires traits of the person they fuse with.
