|Please note that this is the Dragon Ball Universe Wiki's article on "human" as a term. If you are looking for the article on the "humans" of planet Earth then you should head to Earthling.|
The term Human (人間, ningen) generally refers to any mortal race separate from the Hakaishin, Kaiōshin, and other various deities. Species notably mentioned to be "human" are the Saiyans and the Earthlings. Various humanoid species exist on other planets, such as the Babarians.
- The translation of this term has cause confusion within the fan base of the Dragon Ball series. The term "human" is often confused with referring only to Earthlings; this is due to differences between dubbing and the original Japanese, where "human" is used to refer to the likes of Saiyans by Saiyans themselves, such as Raditz and Vegeta, and Earthlings. When used by Gokū Black, Zamasu, Trunks, and various other characters in the "Future" Trunks Arc, the term was translated in subtitled versions and localizations of the anime as "mortal" or "human" depending on convenience. Gokū Black would also used "human" in Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2.
