The Kaiōken Kamehameha is a combination of the Kaiōken fighting technique developed by the Kaiō of the North and the Kamehameha technique invented by Muten Rōshi. It was created by Son Gokū, combining his two teachers' skills into one for a formidable energy blast.

Usage

A prerequisite of this technique is for the user to have augmented their power through the use of the Kaiōken fighting technique. As with other Kamehameha variants, there is no change in the typical stance. The explosive enhancement of the Kaiōken further increases the already destructive output of the user's Kamehameha. When used by Gokū, a Kaiōken multiplier of three was enough to match Vegeta's own Garlic Cannon.[1] When Gokū pushed the multiplier further, into a multiplier of four, he was able to overtake the Garlic Cannon and injure Vegeta drastically. With the immense power of this technique, however, comes strain; pushing the limits of the Kaiōken early in his training would leave Gokū severely exhausted and in pain after using this technique.[2]

The Kaiōken Kamehameha, and subsequent variations, would become one of Gokū's strongest techniques short of the Genki Dama, until it was eclipsed by the general usage of the Super Saiyan form.

Trivia

  • While this technique has appeared in video games, typically under its stronger variation, the Twenty-Fold Kaiōken Kamehameha, any player can technically use this technique should they use the Kamehameha while using the Kaiōken.
