Demon King Dabura

Dābra as the King of the Demon Realm.

The King of the Demon Realm (魔界の王, Daimaō no Ō),[1] alternatively called the King of the Great Demon Realm (大魔界の王, Daimakai no Ō) or more simply the Great Demon King (大魔王, Daimaō),[2] is the title held by the reigning Majin monarch of the Demon Realm. The current reigning King of the Demon Realm is Koo.

Overview[]

Goma Statue

Statue of King Gomā in the Third Demon Realm.

The Kings of the Demon Realm wield absolute authority over all three divisions of the Demon Realm, including the ability to levy annual taxes and offerings on the denizens of the Demon Realm, as well as command the Gendarmerie: the Great Demon King's military police force.[3] Great Demon Kings are also typically honored by the creation of a statue made in their image and displayed in at least the Third Demon Realm.[4]

Mira[]

Main article: Mira

Mira and Towa

Mira and Towa in Dragon Ball Heroes.

In certain video games, such as Dragon Ball Online, the Dragon Ball XenoVerse series, and Dragon Ball Heroes (as well as its promotional anime), the bio-mechanical and time-traveling Majin, Mira, was Dābra's successor as King of the Demon World instead of Gomā. Mira was the creation and romantic partner of the Demon Realm scientist Towa.[5] However, little about his reign as Demon King has been revealed outside of his claim to the title.

Fyū[]

Main article: Fyū Appearing in the same video games as his parents, Fu was the "son" of Mira and Towa, and was chosen by Dābra to be his rightful successor as King of the Demon Realm.[6] While he never fully assumes this position, he does become the Dark King: a position supposedly higher than that of the King of the Demon Realm, with absolute authority over the entire realm.[7]

Trivia[]

  • The title of King of the Demon Realm appears to apply regardless of the sex or gender of the claimant, as Arinsu desired to claim the title of Great Demon King rather than calling herself a "queen".[8]
