Mimicry[1] is an ability used rarely by certain fighters.

Usage

This ability allows a person to mimic techniques or fighting forms that they have only seen once. Using this ability, all the individual needs is to see the technique once before they can employ it themselves. It was used most famously by Son Gokū, when the latter mimicked the Kamehameha at a young age after only seeing Muten Rōshi perform it once, and would later go on to make the technique his arsenal staple.[2]

Gokū Black employs a far more dangerous version of mimicry; after fighting with Son Gokū, Black was able to copy Gokū's combat stance and movements, making his body stronger by using Gokū's own fighting methods.[3] Black's method is further unique, however, as it seems to involve actually experiencing the fighting he's mimicking through combat.[4]

Trivia

  • This ability may have simply originally been a play on the phrase "Monkey See, Monkey Do", as Gokū, the first to use it, merely had to watch Rōshi use the Kamehameha before he could do the same.
