Android No. 16 (人造人間16号, Jinzōningen Jūroku-Gō) is an Android created by Dr. Gero, designed to fulfill the doctor's vendetta against Son Gokū. No. 16 is Gero's most powerful Android creation, outstripping the strength of No. 17 and No. 18 by far. No. 16 was modeled after Gero's own son.[1]

No. 16 was modeled after Dr. Gero´s son, who died young long ago. Having a special place in his heart for his own child, Gero gave No. 16 great power and a fearsome explosive mechanism, but not wanting him to be destroyed in battle if possible, he gave him a gentle personality, which caused No. 16 to become a failure.[2]

No. 16's full appearance.

No. 16 was modeled after Gero's son, and therefore bears some resemblance to the late young man. No. 16 was a startlingly tall individual, with orange hair worn in a cut similar to a mohawk. He had dull blue eyes, and typically wore an expression of disinterest unless something he enjoyed was near. His outfit consits of a black bodysuit, with green armor worn over it, as well as matching armbands and boots. The chestplate of his armor was emblazoned with the Red Ribbon emblem.

Androids Arc

No. 18 activated No. 16 and joined both Androids in their plot to assassinate, Gokū. The Androids are then confronted by the Dragon Team. No. 16 spectates the battle between Vegeta versus No. 18. In the anime, No. 16 is distracted by the birds in the surrounding environment.
