The Parent and Child Kamehameha is a variation of the Super Kamehameha used by Son Gohan in tandem with the spirit of Son Gokū.

Usage

The Parent and Child Kamehameha is one of the more drastically different Kamehameha in the series. Gohan formed the technique with only a single hand, due to his own arm being injured at the time. The blast was able to equally counter Cell's own Super Kamehameha, until Gohan began to falter. However, with the moral support of the spirit of his father, Son Gokū, as well as a timely distraction, Gohan was able to pull out enough of his latent power to overwhelm the Bio-Android's Kamehameha as well as entirely erase him from existence.

Trivia

  • Despite Gohan's blast countering Cell's own Kamehameha, which was touted by the Bio-Android as having the "power to destroy the solar system", Gohan's Kamehameha left no such permanent damage to even the Earth.
  • In the anime, Gokū's spirit is seen as a Super Saiyan when he assists Gohan; this also carries over to the games. However, in the manga, Gokū was in his normal state; this was kept the same in Dragon Ball Z: God and God, fixing the anime's change.
  • In the video game, Dragon Ball XenoVerse,Cell and his Cell Jr.s perform a nearly identical technique on Gohan in the altered timeline, pooling their powers into a singular Kamehameha to blast Gohan away.
