The Gokū's Youth Saga (悟空青年時代編) is the second part of the Dragon Ball series where it chronicles Gokū's new battles with the Saiyan invaders and the organization of Freeza, where it unveils the extraterrestrial origins of Son Gokū. The portion of the series concludes with the battles against Cell and the Androids where Son Gohan has picked the mantle of preserving peace on Earth. The second part compiles the story from Volume 17 to Volume 35. In the anime it covers the first portion of the Dragon Ball Z anime. It is preceded by the Gokū's Childhood Days Saga and followed by Gokū's Family of Three Training Saga
