Bird of Immortality|
|Galaxy||Milky Way, North Galaxies|
|Planet of Origin||Earth|
Phoenixes are a unique species of bird found on Earth. Only one known member of this species has been mentioned. The bird is capable of granting immortality, and Kame-Sennin intended to use it to give Son Gokū immortality as a reward for rescuing Umigame. It is also immortal, but the immortality appears to be limited, as it died from poisoned birdseed.
In Other Media
While not appearing proper, in Dragon Ball Kai: Attack of the Saiyans, there is an item called the Phoenix Feather, a feather from one of these immortality granting creatures. True to form, the item revives a dead individual at 50% of their health.
- The Immortal Phoenix is the first case of immortality being mentioned in the Dragon Ball series, though it would go on to become a plot point multiple times later.
