The man was the last survivor of the inhabitants of Ginger Town, he was already significantly injured that was the result of unknown events.

The man being wealthy showed panic as he pleaded with Piccolo to save his life. In this endeavor he offered anything for his life to be spared.

He offers money to ask to be helped, but Cell absorbs him.[2] At the end of the Cell Game, he like all the people killed by Cell were brought back to life.
