Hyperbolic Time Chamber

The Room of Spirit and Time (精神と時の部屋, Seishin to Toki no Heya; FUNimation "Hyperbolic Time Chamber"), also known as the Dimension of Time[1], is a separate dimension, with the only known entryway located at the Castle of God. In this dimension, time flow is distorted, with one full Earth day outside the chamber being equivalent to an Earth year.

Overview[]

Despite being able to train and build one's power rapidly in the Room of Spirit and Time, it had been stated simply being in the room is not only hard on the body, but prevents them from resting properly. The result being an individual that has recently left the room should wait at least a full day outside before going back inside.

There are two versions of the Room of Spirit and Time.

First Version[]

The first version was used during the Cell Games and the battle against Boo. This version could only allow one or more people to remain inside for up to two years (two days in the real world). Afterward, the entrance disappears, leaving the people using it trapped inside for eternity. This version was left unusable after Piccolo destroyed the entrance in an attempt to trap Boo (Evil).

Second Version[]

After Piccolo destroyed the entrance in an attempt to trap Boo, a second version was created. This version allows an individual to stay inside for a much longer period as Gokū and Vegeta could remain inside non-stop for 3 years (3 days on Earth).

Background[]

Gokū was said to have trained in this room prior to his battles in the 23rd Tenka-Ichi Budōkai, however he was not able to last more than a month in it. Gokū was said to have received a growth spurt during his session.[2]
