This should be translated as "Garlic Cannon." Gyarikku is not a Japanese word. Its a romanization of an English word and intended to be English. Don't get thrown of by the Hō. This technique was intended to be read as "Garlic Cannon." Black (Talk) 20:06, June 29, 2016 (UTC)

20:10, June 29, 2016 (UTC) - No, Galick Gun/Cannon is the appropriate translation. "Garlic" in Japanese katakana is ガーリック ("gaarikku", notice the lengthened "aa" sound which indicates it's meant to represent "ar") whereas the attack is ギャリック ("gyarikku", "gya" instead of "ga" and a short "a" sound). In fact, a similar word in Japanese is ギャル ("gyaru", which is literally "gal", referring to a certain type of girl). So the translation should be Galic, Galik, or Galick, but not Garlic. Also, Toriyama's naming scheme is rarely one to one with the item. He usually tweaks the katakana so translating it as "Garlic" not only is inaccurate to the katakana but is also not in keeping with his naming scheme. Even if it is named after garlic, it's not gonna be outright called "garlic". Also, I'm not sure but it also sounds like it could double as a pun on "galactic" since Vegeta is from space and several of his other attacks also have space themed names like Big Bang Attack, Gamma Burst Flash, Galaxy Breaker, and Cosmic Death Shower. - It also doesn't make sense for it to be "Garlic" when there's a character literally named Garlic (ガーリック) later on in the anime. His name is one to one with garlic. Galick Gun is not. Aozf05 (talk) 06:03, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
